Will this work with standard rechargeable 18650 batteries or only the rechargeable surefire batteries with the built in charger?

Short answer yes! I have this Surefire scout light pro turbo, and a cloud defensive rein 3.0 that comes with an 18650 flat top battery without the built in micro usb charging port. I popped the rein 3.0 battery in and it turned on! Now the flat top vs the button top, I’m curious to see if either will have different output or battery life. Also curious to see if either will giggle around more and induce an accidental discharge. But yes it does turn on with the 18650 that cloud defensive includes with the Rein 3.0.

Surefire claims 100,000 candela and 700 lumens when used with their SF18659b battery. Is this model different from the M640DFT on surefire’s site?

This SureFire M640DFT Turbo Scoutlight Pro is the Duel Fuel 6-volt light that features 700 lumens (w/ SF18650B; 600 lumens w/ two 123 lithium, and 100,000 candela w/ SF18650B; 90,000 candela w/ two 123 lithium.
