Since I don't see anything restricting gas flow on the open end, I'm thinking this is closer to an A2 than a muzzle brake. Can anybody confirm? — 2 Answers

It's an elongated A2. Similar profile with the ports and a non-ported side (if timed properly) on the bottom just like the A2 however longer. I consider this a flash hider with a slight muzzle brake just like the A2 birdcage is.

Every muzzle device that TacFire makes is advertised as a “break” or a “compensator”, regardless of its actual breaking capability or construction.
