bergara highlander uses a larger #8 screw. Will this work or do I need other screws?

The Talley Remington 700/Sauer 100 1-Piece Medium 1 inch Base & Ring Set Includes mounting screws and wrench. (6-48 Screws / T-15). They are designed for the Sauer 100 and 101 rifles.

Assuming your scope has a 1" tube, you will need the high height:

Yes, the B-14 Timber uses Remington 700 style bases.

are these reversible? im mounting on a remington 700 a nikon prostaff which has a tube length(1" section) of 5 1/4" ???? just ordered these now worrie

The rear is not reversible, but the front should be fine to be reversed. As long as neither is interfering with the loading and ejection of the round or the bolt it should be fine.
