Why are the last 3 holes in the tube hollowed out?

The manufacturer does not provide an explanation for this, but it is likely for drainage of water or debris without having to remove the buffer tube.

Timber Creek does not provide the weight of their AR Mil-Spec Buffer Tube. However, most Mil-spec buffer tubes weigh around 4 oz. For more specific information I would recommend contacting Timber Creek directly.
