Will this work on a gen 1 MRO? Do both generations have the same footprint?

There is only 1 generation of MRO. The 2.0 references the size of the dot in MOA.

No, these Trijicon Mounts will either provide an absolute co-witness, or low height for shotguns. A lower 1/3 mount for the MRO can be found by using the link below:

It will not. The MSR will work on mounts that are designed for the Aimpoint T1/T2 optic.

It would likely be higher than necessary, for the shotgun in question a low mount would likely be the best option.

Will this allow a cowitness on a B&T APC9?

It depends on what iron sights you are running on the B&T. The co-witness heights referenced on this page are referncing AR15 height sights. The low may co-witness on the B&T depending on the height your iron sights are.
