Yes this rail uses standard barrel, not included.

Dave, Yes that is the advantage of the Troy setup in that is uses a std barrel nut. Make sure to use blue Locktite after you do your complete firing/function check of the gas system to make sure everything is operational and where you want all of your accessories mounted jsut the way you want them. Then locktite everything and you will be good to go. I personally love the ease of installation, ruggedness, and ergonomics of the Troy Alpha rail. Remember a simple propane torch and some heat and all of those screws can/will loosen back up with locktite on them. But if your don't locktite that stuff, you will have issues 1/2 through a good range day with your gear rattling and falling off and be cursing the whole time. Good luck!
