will thisfit a 5D tactical 80% lower? It’s a DPMS Gen 1 style. Does high and low profile only have to do with fitment of hand guards??

The V Seven AR-10 308 Harbinger Upper Receiver might fit a 5D Tactical 80% Lower. AR10 rifle components are not as universal like AR15 components. Even if two AR10 parts are the same "pattern" like DPMS, it is not guaranteed they will work together.

Is there a particular type of barrel that will or will not fit this upper? What about hand guards? Will all hand guards fit this upper?

The Harbinger upper will work with most barrels and handguards on the market. Make sure to choose the mil-spec M110/SR25/DPMS LR 308.

The Harbinger upper is standard mil-spec height, now called the "High".

The V Seven AR-10 308 Harbinger Upper Receiver should work with that lower since it is DPMS pattern. However, since AR10 components have different specifications between manufacturers fitment of the V Seven AR-10 308 Harbinger Upper Receiver to that lower can't be guaranteed.

This is a SR25 pattern upper that is compatible with DMPS high profile handguards.
