So does the bolt stay open on final shot with this?

Answered by Tom B, Gear Expert, from IL, United States, on August 26, 2021

No, this does not hold the bolt open on an empty magazine. This just make it much easier to close the bolt on the Ruger 10/22 rifle. Specifically, enables the shooter to simply pull the bolt back slightly to release it. This eliminates the need to push up on the bolt lock mechanism to release the bolt.

Q

Does this resolve the problem of the bolt jamming and locking on the Ruger 10/22 ?

Expert Answer
A
Answered by Armando R., Gear Expert, from IL, United States, on September 13, 2019

It depends on how it is jamming. Many will say an extractor replacement will help, but that's the solution for one of a few problems you could be experiencing. Taking the 10/22 apart and giving it a thorough cleaning is the first step. Then diagnosing the malfunction is the next step to know what is going to fit it. We would recommend taking it to a qualified gunsmith.
