This is an automatic bolt release for the Ruger 10/22, not an auto locking bolt device. This device was never intended to lock the bolt open upon firing the last round. This device is made to be a higher quality, more durable bolt lock that's machined to allow the operator of the Ruger 10/22 to close the bolt without needing to also release the bolt locker, as you would need to with the stock Ruger 10/22 bolt locker, in this sense the bolt locker releases 'automatically' just by operation of the charging handle.

This product is made to not hold the bolt open on the last round. Nothing is wrong with your firearm.

This part is not designed to hold the bolt open on the last round, 10/22’s don’t work like that.

It never did even before you installed this, and it still won't after you installed it.

The 10/22 doesn't have a last round bolt hold open. As far as I know there's no simple way to add this feature either. The t/c clone does but requires a special magazine to activate it. The clone also already had the feature that this device provides.
