what mainspring does this take? the mark 3 or the 22/45? thank you

The 1911-style uses the 22/45 mainspring and the 22-style would use the MKIII.

Does this lower upgrade the MK IIIs - to be more easily disassembled like the MK IVs - or does it remain the clunky, difficult model that it is?

It would still utilize the mainspring housing lever similar to the MKII and MKIII pistols.

This frame is only compatible with the MKII and MKIII and will not fit the push-button MK IV.

The Volquartsen Firearms VC Target Frame, 1911 Style, is compatible with your Ruger MK II barrel. It is a complete frame with the following features: Accurizing Kit (includes Extended Bolt Release, CNC-machined Target Trigger, wire EDM-cut Target Hammer and Target Sear), CNC-Machined Disconnector, and Extended Safety.

No. The Volquartsen Firearms VC Target Frame, 1911 Style, is only compatible with the Ruger MK II and Ruger MK III. Volquartsen does not make a compatible frame with the MK IV - 22/45.

Will this fit the Ruger Mk IV 22/45? I cannot see if it has a take down button, and it does not seem to have a vertically positioned bolt stop pin.
