The V-Plex reticle is Vortex's name for their duplex reticle - standard crosshairs that ar thicker at the edges for faster target acquisition, and thinner in the center so as not to obscure the view of the target.

The Dead Hold reticle is a BDC (Bullet Drop Compensating) reticle. This reticle minimizes the need for guessing bullet hold-over at long distances. By selecting the appropriate reticle hashmark, a shooter will have a reliable bullet-drop reference. This reticle also provides reference marks which can be used to compensate for bullet drift in windy conditions or to range distances.
