You would need an AR-height mount. AR rifles require higher mounts that most rifles because the stock comes directly off the back of the receiver rather than angling down. As a result, a lower mount results in being unable to get your eye down to the eyepiece.

The V-Brite reticle has a red color illumination and it is an adjustable brightness.

I would recommend using a 1-piece scope mount such as the Vortex Cantilever Ring Mount (linked below). This mount is designed to provide the correct height and forward placement for proper riflescope mounting on flat-top ARs.

You would need either Ruger factory rings in 30mm, which indeed are ordered individually, and would require either a 4 and 5, or a 5 and 6. Alternatively, a set of Leupold/Ruger 30mm rings, sold as a pair!
