Where ever the bullet hits the target you move the cross hair to bullet impact.

On my Primary Arms scope if I'm my point of impact is low. I dial up. If to the right I dial left and so on. I suspect all scopes work basically the same.

yes if you want the projectile to impact target higher then move turret up if you are hitting left move it to the right if your hitting low turn turret up

Take a shot on a steady bench aiming at center. After the shot, aim again at the center and without moving the gun adjust the reticles to where the first bullet struck the target. Your next shot should be pretty close to center requiring only fine adjustment (assuming gun is reasonably accurate and quality, consistent ammunition).
