This optic has a FFP BDC reticle ideally suited for cartridges like 5.56x45 and 7.62x51!

Is it normal to have speckles and light bleed at the highest illumination?

If the illumination intensity is turned to the highest in a very dark room, or, with the lens itself covered, reticle bleed will be visible, and would be considered normal. Specs or floating debris within the field-of-view, other than reticle subtensions cut into the reticle cell would not be normal, otherwise.

Daylight bright reticle?

According to Vortex the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24mm 30mm FFP Rifle Scope reticle illumination is not Daylight Bright but is bright enough to be used during the day.

The Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24mm 30mm FFP Rifle Scope does not come with a mount. If you are mount this to an AR I recommend using the mount at the link below.
