The Vortex Viper HD 8x42mm Roof Prism Binoculars come with the Vortex GlassPak. This includes lens caps, chest harness, and neck strap.
I can answer my own question. I emailed Vortex directly and they were very responsive. The Vortex Viper 8x42 binoculars are definitely made (assembled) in the Philippines. Optics for the binoculars come from Japan. The current version of the Viper's is V200.
Don't be mislead by the photos on most sites selling these binoculars. The photos show, on the underside, "Made in China". Not true anymore. The photos are old. The current version comes from the Philippines. I hope this helps those people trying to avoid buying from China, if possible. Just my 2 cents. KevinCf

It is the prism that allows these binoculars to have the objective lens in line with the eyepiece, the other type of prism used in a binocular is a porro prism. Traditional style binoculars with the objective outside the line of the eyepiece use porro prisms.
