The scope ring height will depend on the specific rifle you intend to mount the scope to. For AR platform rifles, a high or extra high ring set/mount would be recommended in order to achieve the ideal centerline height, However, bolt guns will typically be more comfortable to shoot with the scope as low to the receiver as possible.
