No, these are digital night vision binoculars - They "shoot" an 850nm infrared light out. This will only be visible when looking through the device, others around will not be able to see the infrared light.

X-Vision Optics provides a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty on all X-Vision products. This promises customers that thei products will continue to meet the manufacturing specifications and warrants that the products will be free from defects or flaws in workmanship, parts, and systems if product instructions are followed under normal use conditions. The warranty period is 24 months from the original date of purchase.

How many batteries does it need to operate? Can I use rechargeable ones?

This will take 8 AA batteries. We do not recommend using rechargeable batteries unless it has been verified for use by the manufacturer.

These are not like the military gen 3 devices, this is an equivalent to a handheld digital device.

No, it will be reduced but the unit will still provide night vision capability.
