Most Helpful Positive Review FourSevens Preon P2 Review
I bought the 4Sevens Preon P2 to put it into the role of my EDC light. After my last pen light broke I began the search for a replacement and after reading many reviews I decided to purchase the Preon P2. So far the light has lived up to my every expectation. The Quality of the light was evident the...

Preon P2 - Great features in a handy package!

by John, from AL, United States Written on January 19, 2015
I picked up the Preon P2 after careful deliberation between several other AAA and CR123 lights. I wanted the slim form factor for easy carry. I narrowed it down to the Streamlight Stylus Pro and this light. Both great lights, but the added features of three brightness levels along with the programmable modes of the P2 won out. It was worth the price difference to me. After about two weeks of use, the three brightness levels have been a major win. The low level (2.2 lumen) is great for those low light needs without blinding you with reflection. It's plenty of light for illuminating your path. The next level (22 lumen) extends the reach of the light well and is a good brightness for lighting the general area. The high level, (160 lumen) can brighten the tops of trees easily and in my case lights up to the roadway (about 200') quite well! The build quality is exceptional, as expected from FourSevens. I own another JetBeam, and one other 47'2 as well. I love the P2. It's an easy carry size, great brightness and well worth the added functionality to me (compared to the Streamlight Stylus Pro. Highly recommend!

Nice Light

by Justin Sims, from TX, United States Written on January 5, 2015
I bought this light for an everyday carry item. It has worked perfectly so far with zero issues. I use a larger light if I have to use a light for extended periods of time, but this little light is perfect for my needs. I really like the three different settings for brightness as I sometimes need to use it to light a notebook or invoice in a low light area where the brightest setting would be too bright.

Great for shirt pocket carry. Pant pocket, not so much.

I would still recommend this little light as a value buy, but I will admit that it did not turn out to be as good as I expected. Maybe I had unrealistic expectations. I do not like that the on/off switch is so easily activated accidentally, and I have had to bend the pocket clip back into place far to many times already. I'm really expecting it to just break off any day now. The use of the strobe function is also unrealistic "tactically" as you must cycle through the three brightness settings twice to get there. All in all, a great little light with just a few minor shortcomings.
Pros: Strong tube construction, bright light with no artifacts, water proof, multiple functions for output
Cons: On/off button is easily "bumped" on when in pants pocket causing a constant on and battery drain, flimsy pocket clip, must cycle through the three brightness settings twice to get to "strobe" and other "blinking" functions.
