OK, like many of you I'm preparing for a dire situation that will probably never happen. However that does not mean that something bad that requires me to get out there and take risks won't happen. It also does not mean that I am not serious about my equipment. I have six plate carriers. Of all six, this carrier is the most comfortable and easiest to put on and take off. As is normal for a serious plate carrier, it's a pain to get the plates in, positioned properly and tightly supported by the four internal velcro'd straps. When you open the plate carrier compartment, there are two straps that run vertically to actually support the weight of the plate and two that tightly hold it from shifting horizontally. Once you get the horizontal straps wide enough to hold your plate from moving side to side you move on the weight bearing straps. Get all these straps as tight as you can; you'll thank me when you have to run with it on. Popping on whatever you want to the molle attachments takes some time too but it's important to get your gear attached securely. I have three rifle mag holders and two pistol mag holders on it. I am sure I'll be experimenting with positioning and adding more equipment if needed. You will find that 5.11 has made sure that no ragged edges aren't sealed or doubled over and stitched so that as the rig ages the nylon won't start becoming unraveled. This is a quality product and worth your time and money.
Pros:
- well made
- Comfortable
- High quality velcro
- High quality nylon
Best Used for:
- When you need to be serious about you and your family's safety

I'm no expert but this plate carrier seems like it is a good middle of the road option on value, budget, weight, and features. I'm happy with it as it feels solidly built and holds everything I need it to while not breaking the bank. Its still new and my first plate carrier ao maybe I will have more to say on it with time.
Pros:
- Adjustable
- Quick Disassembly
- Casualty Drag Handle
- Plenty of space for plates and trauma pads
- Elastic cumber buns
Cons:
- Shoulder strap spacing is narrow

This is one of the best plate carriers I have use so far. Comfortable, breathable and feels like it will late and stand up to the abuse I’ll put it through (time will tell). I’ll report back if anything changes.

Overall this plate carrier seems well made. Nice stiching, holds my plates well. Not a huge fan of the adjustments for the shoulder straps. But that is my only complaint. Overall this carrier is comfortable, well made, I will try to report back late to see how well it holds up.

This has to be the most comfortable plate carrier Ive ever used with the padded and ventilated and padded shoulder support this is an excellent carrier for duty and combat not just fitness as some say. This is well built and better quality than even a lot of the combat plate carriers. I’ve done my research on many plate carriers and used many plate carriers honestly don’t hesitate just buy this one you won’t regret it.
Pros:
- Comfortable and durable and easy drag handle that extends out
Cons:
- no cons at this time that I can find yet

It is a durable and light weight no non sense carrier and I could not find one in stock in the color that I wanted anywhere else. IT's adjustable in the back and front and has a handle in the back that is collapsible that I hope never needs to be used but nice to have nonetheless. Good enough price, good buy.

5.11 is top notch, been waiting to get this for awhile. It’s awesome! Well constructed, exactly what I expected from 5.11. Very comfortable. I like the sandstone color a lot, although it’s not a true match with coyote or fde, they go together well.

This pc is incredibly well designed. The way the shoulder straps are designed really help with weight distribution - making it much more like a hiking pack than a weighted vest in terms of comfort. The way the sides connect without having to remove any additions (like Tacos) makes this a very easy to use pc. The quality is excellent - as is to be expected with anything bearing the 5.11 name. 10/10 would recommend this to anybody - professional or otherwise.

The number one factor for me with gear like this is the quality of the stitching. This alone deserves a 5 star rating. The 5.11 Tac Tec Plate Carrier is well made and will easily secure heavy plates, even those with thick build up coating. The internal design of the plate holder appears to accomdate several shapes and tbicknesses and once secured, won't move around. In title I used the word "system" because that's what it is. The emergency pull release works as described and once you understand it, adjustments are set and forget. The drag handle also works well and is a smart feature. Like all plate carries, the shoulder strap padding is crucial when the plates alone can easily add 15 pounds, let alone the added weight to finish the kit. The shoulder straps and pads are good but could be a tad wider. The gap for a butt stock is adequate and it's too soon to tell if this will meet my requirements. Overall the 5.11 Tac Tec Plate Carrier is closer to a 5 star rating for this level of investment but time will tell if this will exceed the expected performance standards that 5.11 is known for.
Cons:
- Sboulder pads may require break in.

This plate carrier is awesome the features it has are far better then most on the market, couldn’t beat it for the price. There was a flaw I found that it did not come with any instructions on how to adjust the size. So when I got it it was set to small and did not fit, I almost returned it for that reason. If it wasn’t for a buddy of mine I wouldn’t have found out to adjust the size of it you have to pull the quick release cord and adjust the side and shoulder straps. Other then not coming with instructions I’m more then impressed with this product.
