Save your firing pins from dry fires

by JedimasterSean, Verified Owner from AZ, United States Written on July 17, 2024
Every calibur of A-Zoom Snap Caps I have are accurate to case measurements and have firing pin protection. I use them from dry firing, and miss feed recovery drills to testing magazines. They are an essential to me.
Pros:
  • firing pin protection
  • safer cycling without live ammo
  • absolute peace of mind having my daughter able to safely drill herself whenever she can
Cons:
  • Unknown
Best Used for:
  • everything one might do with live ammo up to needing to fire it.

A-Zoom rifle snap caps .223

by Chris H., from KY, United States Written on April 23, 2021
Tried the snap caps out the cycle good and you don't have to worry about dry firing your rifle with these. You can load them in a magazine and dry fire but you have to charge it every time because of course there's no explosion to cycle the rifle.

Snap Caps can be useful

by TH, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on February 11, 2018
These dummy rounds fit & funtion like they should. It's fairly easy to tell them apart from other ammunition. Even though dry-firing of some types of firearms has lower risks than others, it's good to have the option to take precautionary measures. These allow me to perform multiple actions without the risk of a discharge.
Pros:
  • safety
Cons:
  • Expensive
Best Used for:
  • Evaluation

A-Zoom Snap Caps

by Bob, Verified Owner from NV, United States Written on March 5, 2016
Does what it is supposed to do. Wish it was a 5 pack rather than 2 pack for the price. Good for checking rifle function after building or dry fire practice. Also good for randomly mixing into mags for various drills.

Hindsight is definitely 20/20

by JamMart, Verified Owner from MN, United States Written on March 6, 2015
Was thinking this would be a good idea to have on hand, especially for training/malfunction drills. Now I wonder why I waited so long. The semiauto pistol snap caps readily fit into the magazines and chamber smoothly. I noticed they are sturdy construction and quality materials. Good idea, and awesome purchase!

  • Training/Malfunction Drills

practice makes perfect

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from KS, United States Written on December 1, 2011
not exactly cheap--until u figure the price of replacing a firing pin. Practice makes perfect when it comes to target acquisition and trigger pull. snap caps enable you to practice without spending money on rounds. I also use snap caps to practice rapid magazine changes safely.
Pros: keeps your firing pin from getting damaged during dry firing
