Most Helpful Positive Review Works great if you install it correctly on Super Redhawk
I read several reviews saying the mount would be offset because of the ridge that secures it to the side of the mount. If you mount it on the front location this is true. The directions specifically say to mount it on the rear location near the hammer. If you do this as the instructions indicate, all is well. It sits centered and secured. Also, the directions state to gently tight the left side. If you over tighten the left side it is just pulling against the ridge on the the side of the mount and will not tighten any further. So snug the left, then tighten the right and it will be just fine. ...

5.0 out of 5 stars Works very well to mount a Vortex Venom on a Ruger Mark IV 22/45 LITE

by Jeff Pesos, from OR, United States Written on June 5, 2025
Alignment posts mate precisely with the alignment holes in the bottom of the Venom.

Simple mounting procedure after you drift out your rear sight (and, remove the top rail if your Ruger has one). Two screws hold the Venom to the mount and also lock the mount in the rear dovetail. The result looks sharp and is about as low as you can mount a Venom on a Ruger Mark series.

Very satisfied. Highly recommended.

On the other hand, if you want to keep your rear sight in place and mount an RDS to your Mark series without using a rail, search for the Outerimpact mount, which mounts to your barrel using the standard rail screw holes that are forward of the rear sight.

Heavy, but nice site mount

by andrew, from MN, United States Written on June 5, 2025
I needed a mount for my Burris Fastfire II that would allow it to see over the tall wind adjustment turret of my nikon P-223 scope. I am using a Burris PEPR scope mount which has rails to allow a sight to sit above the Nikon Scope. But the Fastfire alone with its standard rail mount was too low and the Scope turret blocked the view.

So rather than get a simple riser, I decided to purchase this. While it is pretty heavy, it is very well built and puts the Fastfire II at the perfect height to just clear the Nikon's turret. The added protection it provides to the Fastfire is also a nice bonus along with the spot for a spare battery and the tools needed to adjust the site.

Definitely worth the money for the added protection and storage it offers.

Quality Craftsmanship, Confirmed to work with Vortex Venom

by andrew, from MN, United States Written on June 5, 2025
This mount is exactly what I was looking for to mount a 3moa Vortex Venom on my Mark IV Target, it arrived in perfect condition with easy to understand instruction, especially since id already watched a couple YouTube videos. The hardest part is driving out the rear sight, i removed the upper and bolt then laid the upper on a hard wooden table and slowly tapped it out to the left of the pistol if aiming downrange, ensure the set screw is loose before attempting and use a brass hammer if available to avoided marrying the finish. Install, is a breeze, be sure to use some loctite once you have the mount/red dot where you like it so it stays put.

Good low-profile "Doctor"-style mount

by Jason, from OR, United States Written on June 5, 2025
Quality-made product specific to your model. Fits "Doctor"-style red-dot sights precisely. Dovetail fit perfectly. Be aware that the screws provided by Burris (mount) and AT3 (my red dot sight) were too short and would not engage threaded base. I had to drill the AT3 mounting holes slightly deeper to get the screws provided by AT3 to securely engage base threads. Despite the mounting issues, I am very happy with the Burris base. Burris customer service was very good when I thought their base threads had stripped out, but the AT3 screws were just too short.

Great mount!

by Ed, from MT, United States Written on June 5, 2025
Great item. A little tricky to install as I decided not to use the star washers on the 2 Torx screws. I found the star washers didn't fit inside the recessed screw holes well preventing the screws from reaching past their first couple of threads. That made it impossible to attach the optic to the mount. Removed the star washers and the optic secured to the mount with ease. Be sure to use some blue loc-tite to ensure the mount doesn't come loose. My Mark II looks great with this mount and a Fastfire 3. Sighted in at 25 yards, I didn't need to shim this mount or do anything other than make minor elevation and windage adjustments. I left my front sight on only because I feel the pistol looks better with it still on. The dot is above the front sight enough when aiming so it doesn't really get in the way. I'm glad I went with this mount, can't think of any other mount that's this secure and low in profile giving the pistol a clean look.

Fits Henry BigBoy X

by Jason, from OR, United States Written on June 5, 2025
Purchased the Marlin 336, 444, 1895 mount to use on a Henry BigBox X model. Fit perfect with no Gun Smithing required. The mount does hang off the rear some but does not interfere with the hammer operation, I have had no issues with cocking or de-cocking the hammer. I also used one of the Burris FF3 picatinny protectors and removed the mount and put it on the marlin mount. Have put quite a few rounds thru with no issues. I did red lock tight the screws that join the base to the protector and blue lock tight all the other ones. Over all very happy, I know its not the normal sight for a Henry Rifle but all of my hunting with this gun is less than 80 yards so the FF3 works perfect for me and is much faster then a scope.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to install, mounts low and looks clean

by Jim in Idaho, from MT, United States Written on June 4, 2025
Used this to mount a Fastfire III on a Ruger Mark IV. I prefer this to using the Picatinny mount on a rail or other scope base that lies along the top of the receiver since it is far less bulky and mounts the sight lower for a cleaner look.

You do have to remove the factory rear sight but that's not a downside to me since I'll be using the dot exclusively.

Giving this 5 stars for "easy to install", 5 stars for sturdiness but only 3 stars for "value for money". 50 bucks seems way too expensive for a couple of small, easily machined pieces, but it's a very good mount and I figure buy once, cry once.

Great mounting solution

by MrCarCrazy, from MS, United States Written on June 4, 2025
So one day soon RDS sights will be standard on pistols. If you're doesn't come with one from the factory, the slide will surely be milled and plated to mount one. The difference between irons and an rds is night and day, I can shoot effectively at double the range I could before.

With that out of the way, if you don't have a pistol with a native mount milled into it, or don't want to mill your slide and void your warranty, this dovetail mount is an awesome solution. I have several Burris fastfires, and this mount holds one into a 10mm 1911. It hasn't budged even with slide shock and magnum level loads.

The install was simple once I "coaxed" the rear sight out of the dovetail. The mounting block is a solid piece of steel that slides freely. The unit is held in place by the upward tension created when you torque the whole thing down. Use a generous amount of blue loctite.

Nice rear sight replacement mount for the Ruger mk series

by MrCarCrazy, from MS, United States Written on June 4, 2025
After way too much reading, I decided to grab the Burris mount and Reddit for my MK series Ruger.

This mount is clever, the screws that go through the Burris Red dot drop through a hole in this mount and attach to a wedge that you place in the dovetail. (Clamping the assembly In place).

Don’t worry, the bottom of the mount is curved to match the mk series receiver. It’s a very clean install.

I’m very happy with the setup.

Sight Mount for Burris III

by Zoltare, from MN, United States Written on June 4, 2025
Only 4 stars for now as I have not actually take the part out to the range for test fire as of this writing. As the previous writer stated "dissatisfied with the fit of the dovetail mount. Was provided (2x) dovetail mounting options: 1 for the Cougar and 1 for the 92/98 mount." I too have a 92 and found that the 92/98 dovetail adapter was way to small. The "Cougar" one was a little better fit. I am not sure where the other writer's Beretta was made at, but perhaps the 92/98 adapter will fit the American built Beretta, and the Cougar one will fit the Italian made version. Either way, it seems as if there is an adapter available for your 92. Very well made part, fit and finish are excellent, contains two set of screws (2 long and 2 short), lock washers, and tool to install the screws. All you need to do is push out the sight that came with the pistol (be sure you are pushing it out right to left when viewing it from the back side) and push / tap in the adaptor, set the base on top of the slide and screw it down. I topped it off with a Burris Fast Fire III from the same seller. Will update this post under my review of the Burris Fast Fire 3 after I have gone to the range and tested everything out.
