Decent stock for cheap. The shooting-hand grip isn't the most ergonomic in the world, but it's decent. More than a “little” work but worth it

If you”re thinking you can buy this stock and drop your SKS in - perfect fit you are big time wrong! This stock will require a moderate degree of trimming (as advertised) here and there plus a liberal use of a rubber hammer. There are numerous YouTube videos that an help you, but take it slow and you should be fine. The one criticism I have is that the included gas tube cover is not practical for many reasons so I invested in an upgrade to a NcStar model MSKSV2 badass rail mount also purchased from Optics Planet for about $50. With my new Monte Carlo stock & Gas tube cover I have a great looking upgraded SKS for around $150 bucks. Also Optics Planet is the most professional company I’ve dealt with. They kept me informed every step of the way. Great product for a great price.

Waste of money

The stock I received was warped out of the box. I was able to remove enough material to get my rifle assembled, but it still had a slight bend to it. The grip is really fat and makes your hand rest almost against the dust cover. I did like how it looked as well as the added LOP, but the warp made it useless.

  • Butt pad came loose and was not flush with stock

fits like a glove

My yugo dropped right in. High quality stock, the butt has some extra weight to it which kind of balances the rifle out. If you're looking for a classic look and feel for you new stock, this is it! Checkering is perfect. This stock is a 5!! Look no further buy this one.
