Works great!
It's a military spec barrel nut. Nothing special, and it works exactly as intended. I use mine with an Adams Arms gas piston kit, and it works great. It supports the piston, and allows it to move freely.
The Saga of the Missing Barrel Nut (Aero Saved the Day)
This Aero Precision Barrel Nut was a necessary purchase after realizing the TacStar Carbon Fiber Handguard I bought didn't include one. The quality is exactly what you expect from Aero: impeccable fit and finish, and it threaded onto my upper receiver perfectly, allowing for proper timing. It ultimately locked down the entire front end of the rifle, solving my problem. I'm rating it 4.5 out of 5 stars because while the product itself is excellent, it was a component I shouldn't have had to buy separately. Highly recommend this for any AR-15 build where a standard, high-quality steel nut is needed, but wish it had been included with my handguard originally

Perfect Fit - MilSpec Barrel Nut
It's just a stanard Mil-Spec Barrel Nut, no frills. Affordable, good quality and light weight construction makes this a really good choice for any AR15 Platform build. This is NOT for use with an AR10 Platform. There are really no concerns or issues when installing with any Armorer's wrench.

I wanted to upgrade the hand guard on my Inter Ordinance AR pistol. Unfortunately they used some type of proprietary barrel nut specific to their factory hand guard. I ordered this barrel nut along with a Tapco armorers wrench and everything went smooth. This barrel nut work with the Troy Vtac handguard.

Does it's job well
It's milspec. I put it on my polymer upper receiver. The AR15 Pistol 22lr CMMG 4.5" barrel worked nicely with the barrel nut. I got 55ft/lbs of torque on it and it held up. I couldn't really go heavier because of the polymer upper but as I said before... I like how it worked. I'm general I have been pleased with aero precision products.
