Kit's Review of Aero Precision M5 16in .308 CMV Complete Upper Receiver with Flash Hider w/ ATLAS S-ONE Handguard

AR10 isn't for everyone. Especially shooters unused to gas-impingement troubleshooting. As any Range Safety office any they will tell you that it's not for everyone. Parts selection regardless of the manufacturer has to make sense. However even if you buy all Aero parts upfront you'll want to drill the gas port up by .028. The 16" even with the factory port flings your brass way out in front. All in all you cant run a rifle buffer or spring. No way, you need to use Aero's softer carbine springs and buffer. I did all that and used a dual ejector bolt and it was still wrecking my brass. I finally changed powder loads and went with combat 147gn match bullet. That's this rifle's sweet spot. Even with the 16" the 400yd+ steel sings like a xylophone. If you want to shoot the heavier bullets go with a mid length and I've had luk wotj that out to 700+ same load too boy. But I'm using a 14x SIG BDX heheheheheh
Pros:
  • light, compact accurate gasser that put it down.
Cons:
  • Steep learning curve. expenive to shoot.
Best Used for:
  • Drum mag and plenty of liter bottles.
