Most Helpful Positive Review I have spotted so much wildlife that I never would have seen without it.
I've gotten to use the tc19-256 on several cool and wet nights. You do not get a lot of terrain detail like IR night vision, but animals really stand out. Inside of 30 yards you can see detail like parts in the fur, from about 30 to 60 yards you can see the shape and some features of the animal. (de...

Most Helpful Negative Review As expected for the price, but the customer service is beyond bad.
The image quality is pretty rough, but what do you expect for the price. Built solid, easy to use, and holds zero. However, it is billed as a short range system yet the scope mount mine arrived with is for a 50mm scope. Mine also arrived without the rubber shims. I contacted customer service who res...

Awesome for my budget

by HP22, Verified Owner from MN, United States Written on September 29, 2024
The biggest factor most people seem to consider when it comes to buying thermal, NV, whatever, is the cost. I'm no different in that I couldn't afford to spend $9,000 on a thermal. AGM however had outstanding reviews across numerous sites, and upon finding one that met my budget and would meet my expectations on paper I had to give it a shot. This thing is awesome! I have used it with LPVO's, red dots, EOTECH, and it has not disappointed. It came with all the accessories I needed and then some (including the picatinny adapter), so far the battery life is awesome, the functionality is easy to learn, and the picture is clearer than I was thinking it would be. The amount of detail it picks up is crazy. For me it fits my needs, though I haven't used it past several hundred yards just yet.

You'll find no better product at this price point. It works and it has features beyond expectations!

A friend of mine turned me on to this particular model (AGM Rattler TC19-256 1x19mm 30mm Tube Thermal Imaging Clip-On).
I've been shopping around trying to find an affordable thermal optic for four years. Nothing I could really afford until my friend told me about this model. It is priced just under 1k, has great eye relief, one shot zero capability (depends on user), different reticles, colors and many other options I would never have guessed I'd get at this price point.
I really wanted to get something I could put on a helmet, but that is just not affordable for me right now. But, this can be used as a monocular, scope or in front of a scope! That is the part I didn't know. You can actually clip this on in front of a mid range optic and it actually works!

However, when I bought this from optics planet, the learning curve was high, so many options! Their support was incredible. This is where the product goes from 5 stars (being all I could give) to being 6 stars! The support was personalized. You don't see that in America very often anymore. WOW! Victoria at AGM Support was able to connect me with all the answers I needed to get this thing connected and going with the right peripherals that go with this model. She got me all I needed to update the firmware. Highly recommend any products from AGM for excellent products and service that is prompt, personal, effective and professional. I am amazed with what this product does so well and the versatility it has. *6 stars, hig...

Better than expected

by Tristan Cruz, Verified Owner from AZ, United States Written on December 22, 2022
Their website and optics planet site dont really give you much on what comes in the box. I was worried that it wouldnt have an clip on adapter or a picatinny mount but it came with both. The carrying case is really nice and build quality is exceptional. It feels like a $1K optic in your hands. Im still getting used to the options and setting it up properly. I believe the clip on is meant for 50mm lenses but comes with rubber strips you can use. I have a 3D printer and made my own adapter for it. The options are all nice and I have no issues from out of the box. Quality control is very nice and I have no dead pixels on it but there is an option to remove dead pixels if it happens. It is a good budget optic and using it as a clip on is very nice because you dont have to adjust your zero. I plan on updating this review after I do a adventure hike with my gear and see how well it performs.
Pros:
  • easy to install
  • Included Accesories
  • light but solid
Cons:
  • Price $$$ - unfortunately good things come out a price.
Best Used for:
  • Hungting
  • Survival and fun
