This tool is meh
Finish is on point...Fit, however, different story.
I wish the lugs were bigger and fit better between the cutouts on the forened retaining nut. This slips around, and is hard to maintain a thorough grip throught removal. It does the job, as long as you know what you're doing.

Using on Mossberg 500
Be aware of what you are buying
Needed this to take off the forend of my Winchester Defender 1200, discription was not specific on what tool would work on, forend tools are difficult to find, wasn't even close. Had to use a pair of channel lock pliers wrapped in cloth to remove. Looked on You tube and in the video the guy used the back of a knife blade as wrench.

Works great for what it is
The tool works to get the forend nut off of my 590a1, I do wish they would've made the tiny bar design a little beefier to help with leverage, but oh well, at least it works. If you're changing out your forend say with the magpul forend then this may come in handy for you as the tool that comes with it can fall apart as mine did (the nut was on very tight).

Worked great for 870
I used this to remove the stock 870 Turkey Stock fore grip. It was a tight fit but easily unscrewed the retainer and swapped out fore grips in just a few minutes. The last time I did this I had used a pick and a screw driver. This tool is worth it just to save the frustration.

Good product at a good price. Great for my purpose. I send one with each of my 12 gauge 870 stock and forearm sets. I was very happy to find a product already made for this purpose. It is strong enough to loosen nuts that have been on for a long time needing some persuasion. I plan to come out with a 20 gauge version in the near future. If you have one please contact me. The small packaging makes it easy to ship inside my packages without any special arrangement.

The right tool for the job. You’ve jury-rigged tools before and we know how that usually ends. This forend removal tool does a simple task quickly and easily without harm to your shotgun or yourself. This is the most reasonably priced forend removal tool for someone doing this type of work on rare occasions.
