Tough as nails red dot sight
This is one tough sight! I am a police officer in Las Vegas and I have put this thing through hell, but it keeps going. I'm beginning to wonder if it is even possible to destroy it? Very helpful that it works with all NV gens. All in all, a serious red dot sight for serious ops.
Well over a decade later, the CompM3 is still amazing!
I bought mine used about 8 years ago ( it was close to that old when I got it) and it is the red dot that made me never want another cheap sight again. I got mine with the honeycomb cover which helped force me to learn how to use a red dot correctly (both eyes open) and even with it being the 4 moa version, hitting targets 100 yards away is effortless on my AR pistol. Regardless of how dumb I was with it (bumping it around mostly), it just wants to be a tank and never budge (since I got it with an Aimpoint riser with it) and it has never once lost its zero unless I removed it from my pistol and didn’t put it back in the same spot. Then on top of that, I was very skeptical of the 50k hour battery life until the first time I realized I left it on the last time I was at the range, 3 months before I noticed. I haven’t got to test out if it really gets a full 50k hours but the fact I could leave it on for 3 months and still have everything work perfectly was enough to make me a believer. Now I'm addicted to quality optics and even though it can be an expensive addiction, it’s cheaper in the long run when you aren’t constantly buying cheap garbage just hoping you one day find a unknown gem. Trust me, that gem never comes so stack up that money for a little bit and get the good stuff. The way I explain it to people is comparing sights to mechanics tools. You don’t buy bargain bin tools hoping to get Snap-on performance or life so when it comes to the tool you use to protect yourself...

Very reliable
First, this has an outstanding eye relief meaning your field of view for quick target aquisition is superb. Secondly, the single targeting dot. There is no distraction or obscured view by outer rings or secondary dots. Thirdly, Parallax free meaning where ever the dot is your round is going no matter how your viewing your dot. Lastly, battery life. I dialed mine in so that my 3 round groups are in less than one inch groups at the 50yd and 100 yd line. I was also easily able to hit steel plates of 12" in diameter at 250 yds. If you want to be a minister of death praying for war this is the Optic for you.
I recommend the EOtech G33 3x magnifier as a required addition. The Eotech magnifier allows that extra clarity at distance and the cool thing about this magnifier is it lines up perfectly with the Aimpoint and the up/down and left/right adjustemnts on the magnifier allow you to center the aimpoint dot in the magnifier.

Can't get any better than Aimpoint
Aimpoint red dot sights are my favorite. They will last for a lifetime and have extraordinary battery lives. If you like the look of a more traditional scope and need NV capabilities, the CompM3 is the one for you. If you don't, go for the CompML3 and save yourself some money.
Pros: Long Battery Life, Durability, Technology, NV Capabilities

Aimpoint Comp M3 2MOA Red Dot Sight
Best for short and medium range quick acquisition of target. The Aimpoint Comp M3 allows the shooter to keep both eyes open for situational awareness and the new 2 MOA red dot reticle allows a better, less impeaded view of your target.
Pros: rugged, weather proof, easy to set up and use
Cons: didn't come with an aimpoint sticker

What a difference!
I wish I could have all of the money I have spent over the years on cheap red-dot sights. I would have been able to buy 2 of these. I finally broke down and bought an Aimpoint and have been thoroughly impressed. I have it on a quick release on a Springfield Scout and it is able to maintain alignment when shooting. The dot is easy to see and works well even through an NVG!
Pros: Clear, easy to use, battery life
