Most Helpful Positive Review Pretty impressive!
I installed this mount to confirm or dispel my doubts. The mounting/barrel clamp seems to be heavier than the mount itself but adds the weight toward the muzzle otherwise I would not consider an option that adds that much weight. However, the clamp is a solid clamp in that it does do a good job of securing itself to the barrel. Also, all of the cap screws provided had thread locking material on their threads. Great rail!

Fits perfect! Works with original stock setup and works with ATI StrikeForce stock installed too. Less expensive than other brands AND can still use your iron sights for backup when needed (battery dead in your electronic sight, etc.)!

Does what it says

Fit well on early Mini14 (185 series) Still allows use of open sights. It does add front end weight but only type of mount I have found that is secure on Mini before they started the integrated mounts on this rifle. Very well built.

Well built product. I have the 580 series mini 14, this item was made for the 180 series. With a small amount of grinding with a drimell tool it work perfectly. I have no problems viewing my iron sights.
