I ordered a 36" case last year and it actually measured 36.5" on the inside. I have had issues with the VISM cases measuring about 2" shorter than advertised. it states the case is 38 inches, when received put ruger ranch rifle in,,will not fit, measured case its 36 inches,,,not as stated on description of item,,,,of no use to me or anyone else looking for 38 inch case

Comprising black synthetic fiber, zippers, Velcro, and plenty of pockets, Allen rifle bags are, more or less, Members Only jackets for guns. I've got no fewer than a dozen Allen "Tac-Six" bags, every one of which remains in perfect working order and looking new despite years of use. The zippers are robust, the materials and stitching are durable, and the Velcro closures by which the magazine pockets are secured remain "sticky" after innumerable trips to the range and afield. While I wish all Allen rifle bags sported exterior Velcro for affixing patches, it's a small and meaningless complaint--especially when Velcro can be sewn or glued on with little effort and at negligible expense.

Nice bag BUT

I ordered the 42" on April 30 received it today May 22 and it's 40" ......... My 41" rifle will not fit.
BIG Disappointment... it looks like a really nice rifle bag.. heavy strap and mag pockets are really deep.... just wish my rifle would fit...
