Unreliable safety release

by G229, from NY, United States Written on February 14, 2020
This trigger requires the LOWER part of the trigger safety to be depressed before the trigger will release. This is fine for flat range practice, but under stress, with a less than ideal grip or more often when you get farther down your finger on it, it will not disengage. Totally unreliable for carry.
Pros:
  • metal
Cons:
  • Unreliable
Best Used for:
  • paper target shooting

I was able to smooth that out with a jewelers file but who knows if it really cleaned it up enough.
So now that I have it back to where the bar free float again. I had to deal with a preset pin that would not budge. I ended up punching out the pin. As you can see in the photo the pin stick out the left side of the trigger. That is the side that the pin exited after punching it out. I beat on that pin really hard with a 16oz hammer. I probably hit it no less than 20 times before in came out.
After that I was able to insert the bar and then punch the pin in through the right side of the trigger and was able to drive it completely into place. Now that its set in place It seamed to f...
