Most Helpful Negative Review Decent but not multi-curve and not 6.5lbs
Be advised these plates are single curve and not multi-curve. With base coat they weigh 6lbs 15.5oz and with the anti-spall coat they weigh 7lbs 14oz. I own 2 and one was purchased directly from AR500. This is not optic planet's fault. When I contacted AR500 they got right back to me. Acknowledged the discrepancy and then blew me off. That said, I do believe they will stop the threats they claim to and then some. The advertised dimensions of 10x12 is accurate. No problems fitting in PC's designed for 10x12 plates. If you want true multi-curve steel check out spartan.

Not multicurve armor....

AR500 really needs to represent their armor better. These plates have a single curve down the center of the plate. Thats is. This is not multicurve armor and should not be advertised as such. Ive brought this issue up to AR500 and been blown off. I will be staying away from AR500 in the future.

First plate, not sure what to expect...

The multi-curve plate is recommended for the front of the body because it *should* be a better fit for the chest, but the middle of this plate presses down on my chest (making breathing more difficult), and yet, the top, bottom, and sides of the plate are floating several inches away from my body. I actually had to double check that it wasn't in backwards. It wasn't.

Not enough curve to be useful for me. I'm over 6' and weigh about 185 lbs. I suppose if you have a gut or a flat chest it would fit better.

Haven't been shot yet, so I can't speak to that aspect of the plate.
