There are not many options when it comes to attaching a pistol to your chest. Most are for a specific gun. Some of us have multiple pistols we like to put here. This holster allows you to use multiple guns, even some with small lights, and can be mounted vertically or horizontally. My biggest detractor is the 2 piece snap that tends to undue on the back instead of in the front but not a huge deal. Currently use this holster for a Taser and it works well.

I had this attached to my chestrig and my glock 45 9mm was in it while I was riding my 4 wheeler. I had it well snugged down to the size of my pistol. While on the 4 wheeler when I was driving through the woods I hit a bump and my pistol come out of the holster and hits the foot rest on my 4 wheeler. The pistol was alright. It didn't have a round in the chamber thankfully. And there was also no damage to the gun itself either! Overall I'm not impressed by this piece of garbage. I'm glad I bought 2 of them.

I got one of these direct from AR500 with the plate carrier i ordered. It was defective right out the pack. I contacted AR500 and they told me they would send another one as soon as they received the failed one. I had already waited a couple if monthe for the carrier and holster and i had training coming up so i asked if they could send one out immediately since it was a quality control issue on their end and they would not do it. I am LE and had no time to wait so i told them not to bother. I tossed the holster into the trash can and bought a better one. This company has enjoyed a lot of popularity on YouTube etc, the problem with that is they are so popular that they forgot that the customer comes first not the other way around. I will never purchase anything from them again and have advised my coworkers to avoid them and their flawed products as well. Don't waste your time or money on anything AR500.

First off, you do not get the MALICE clips to attach this holster to your vest or belt. Despite the description saying "with the supplied MALICE clips", you do not get them. Second, the holster itself is OK, but the retaining strap pops off if you look at it wrong. There's absolutely no retention in the buttons (front and back), which makes me hesitant about horizontal carry. You will absolutely lose the little strap since it pops off at both ends as soon as you move it 1mm in any direction. I wouldn't buy it again, and the $20 isn't worth the hassle to return it.

While this holster is super awkward to use (let alone setup), my biggest problem is that it does not have integrated straps. I guess you have to buy additional product from Armored Republic (AR500) which gets expensive, but appears to be their M.O. Plus, I have a full size pistol and it was rattling around in there-did not feel safe at all. FWIW-If you expect a patch (pictured on any Armored Republic/AR500 product), don't be deceived-none of the AR product comes with it. This thing is just another made in Vietnam piece of junk and super heavy.

Armored Republic/AR500 is doo-doo, but Optics Planet has plenty of other good holsters for your MOLLE/PALS gear!
