Most Helpful Positive Review Apollo-Pro MR
I find clip-on systems quite useful because for me it seems to be sort of upgrading my usual day-time scope, as I like it and don’t want to replace it with anything else. I had been using night vision clip-on for a few years and recently decided to get thermal imaging one. I like the idea of possibility to operate equally effective in any part of day and under the most unpredictable weather conditions as I travel a lot and need to be ready for everything. I decided to choose the Apollo Pro MR, as i found it the best for the distances i needed. The robust housing of the device attracted my atte...

Not worth the money to me

by Richard, from CA, United States Written on December 17, 2020
Not that it's available anymore, so probably a moot point, but maybe help somebody decide about buying used or a similar model. I had high expectations going in to this, especially for this kind of money. First off, the bluetooth connectivity was discontinued about 4 years ago, according to the vendor I bought from. While not critical, I really think this is an important feature. I also found the unit very clunky and hard to use. Focus is really difficult, especially if it is mounted in front of a scope. It put the focus ring waaay out there. They say you can just bolt on and go, but this is not true: You are looking at a screen that is in an arbitrary and adjustable place. My scope zero was pretty far off, disappointing because the manual does not say how to zero, so I shot it for the first time after dark in a remote place only to find it was inaccurate. For some reason my reticle disappeared, and the buttons that were supposed to toggle it on and off did not work, nor did a factory reset (Even customer service from the vendor the next day couldn't get my reticle back on). I did not have the time or means to fix it in the dark, so that trip was wasted. Also has a fairly narrow view when seen through any magnified optic at all. The best use is for tripod/bench rest ONLY, as it is far too heavy to hold and adjust. Plan on a LPVO or maybe an EOTech for the optic in front of this, anything else and you won't see much.
For all these reasons, I returned mine, and plan on getting...

Do not hesitate

After a significant amount of research - reading multiple reviews, YouTube watching I finally pulled the trigger on the Apollo Pro MR, and couldn't be happier! I’m very pleased with my day scope, so it was a great way out to keep my scope and to turn it into night one by attaching a thermal clip-on system. Just a few manipulation and here we go – ready for night hunting. My Apollo is for medium range targeting but can actually detect objects at distances over 1000 yards.

Go and buy it!

by North Wind, from NC, United States Written on September 15, 2016
I got a chance to shoot with the Apollo over the weekend. I was a little skeptical, as I always was pretty sure there should be a dedicated thermal scope for best results. But you know guys the clip-on system works just awesome! Just attach it to your day scope and here we go – a scope for night hunting is here! Easy to mount, easy to adjust, easy to use! Do you need anything else?

Must have for professional hunters

For money I spent for Apollo-Pro MR 336 I definitely could get dedicated thermal scope. Though I preferred to buy a clip-on, as no day scope removing and no re-zeroing are required; it is lightweight, rugged mil-spec and easy to mount. I love my Apollo Pro as I feel equipped 24/7 with it. Besides you can use it as a usual monocular, e.g. for target detecting.
