Most Helpful Positive Review ARMASIGHT IR
IS A MUST, ON DARK NIGHTS, IN LOW LIGHT CONDITIONS, REACHES OVER 100 METERS, & HAS 4 BRIGHTNESS SETTINGS,MOUNTED ON MY SIRUS 2+ MONOCULAR. Pros: WORKS Cons: NONE
Most Helpful Negative Review Total disappointment - not as advertised!!
I got this as an accessory for the Armasight Opmod Monocular (a great product!). The description says that it is not visible to "the naked eye" - which is accurate, if your naked eye is unable to see a 1-inch wide bright red light. Seriously - it is a bright red light attached to your head, totall...

yes it does glow visable red, but the value is still great

The iPhones camera picks up some infrared light, so the photos provided make the light appear more noticeable. To the human eye it’s about half as bright, maybe less.

However if it’s a very dark night, I think you’d be able to spot the emitter from over 100yds away, but only if you’re looking directly in line with the emitter.

For the price, I’ll be buying multiple of these to have spares. They’re great for training or just mounting on the side of your NODS helmet so you can have a hands free IR illuminator.

I don’t see a spot to add photos on mobile, if I find a way I will try to edit this review.

  • Cheap
  • Fast ship. Quality parts. Good price
  • CR123 batteries
Cons:
  • emits some visible light

Good but glows

by Travis Northrop, Verified Owner from NV, United States Written on July 29, 2025
This is a good product for the price, however, not good for tactical uses as it glows like a small LED light. It does throw IR light 100 yards out.
Pros:
  • Price
Cons:
  • None

Good inexpensive IR

by Sgtmac168, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on April 2, 2025
This is a nice cheap inexpensive and lightweight easy IR light source...it has several different settings for brightness and seems to work great as a night vision scope add on. I bought a couple and I came back for a couple more. EASY CHEAP IR LIGHT.

Not bad for a entry level IR illuminator

by Budget guy, from CA, United States Written on October 28, 2014
Let me just say this is best suited for airsoft, not so much for real steel. The system works great in conjunction with my Sightmark ghost hunter 1x24 monocular. There were no notable differences when i used the 810 nm and the 850 nm variant. The focal beam diameter was decent at about 100 yards and illuminates only that part of where i am looking. The adjustable beam focus gave me a much farther range of detection compared to the monocular's built in IR light. It does seem a bit exaggerated, it does not transform a gen 1 unit into a gen 2 as it lights up only 1 spot of your peripheral vision dependent on where you would look, otherwise you would be better off with a gen 2 for better night viewing quality. But for me, at least i can see what's far out there with this IR light, and it gets the job done.
