This is an update to a review I made 2 years ago. I contacted Armasight to track down the spec sheet for my specific unit to see what I was working with as far as specs. The image of the tube is great, but I still wanted to know the specs. There are as followed Photocathode Sensitivity: 2283, Halo: 0.91, EBI 0.99, resolution: 64 lp/mm, Signal to noise: 29.9 which means fom of 1913.6. In case anyone is wondering those specs exceed all omni 8 and aside from halo all omni 7 specs which were known to be the most stringent. What YOU get in your system may not be this good, or could be better, but as with anything you take a chance. I've seen a YouTube video where u guy showed his specs and his tube had a Signal to noise of 28, so that says a lot. OpticsPlant definitely has a good thing going with these systems.

Very pleased with this PVS14. Crisp image out to great distances. Uses the slightest bit of light to give a clear view of surroundings, haven't had a need to use the IR. I keep the brightness setting less than halfway. Great pair with my Steiner DBAL. Had to search for the one tiny black speck there is but I never would have noticed if I wasn't looking for it.

This is my first purchase of night vision equipment. I am very pleased with the imaging it produces. It will be a great tool for night hog and predator hunting. It does contain two small black spots, which are common manufacturing defects, but they do not impede its performance. The head mount works, but is not very comfortable for me. My plan it use it as both a monocular on a more reliable helmet and as a weapons mount using Armasight AIM PRO Advance Integrated Mount.

I have been looking for an NVG monocular for a while now. But it had been cost prohibitive. Armasight is one of many companies that makes NVG's for our military. This is a mil spec NVG marketed for Optics Planet in the OPMOD line. This is identical to the Armasight PVS-14 gen 3 alpha yet at a reasonable price. I highly recommend this product! I promise, you will not be dissapointed.

ThIS PVS 14 met all of my expectations. As good or a little better than my Marine Corps issue PVS7 I used in Iraq and leaps and bounds better than what I use as a Law Enforcement officer!

Great piece of equipment. Cant wait to use it hog hunting next summer. The controls take a little getting use to but it fits well on my 308. I can only hope that it holds up to any abuse that it might be subject to while out in the fields, Im glad I decided to put the extra money into a gen 3.

Great product as far as the pvs14 goes. You can not find a better product for night hunting for the money. 4 stars because optics planet should leave the head mount out and add a weapons mount. It just isn't effective for a hunter. If you want it on your head it's best to get a helmet or simply hold it to your face if you're serious about killing a coyote.

First off, I would like to get one thing straight. I am a very picky and impatient person. As with a number of items sold on optics planet, this is an ITAR item. Which means that during the purchasing process, you may have to jump through some very minor hoops, namely simply answering three simple questions and filling out an ITAR compliance sheet. Very easy stuff. Now on to the actual device. I have experience with the "MILSPEC" stuff from my experience in the military, so I have something to compare these to. This PVS-14 is absolutely with out a doubt in my mind every bit as good as the PVS-14's that I've had experience with in the Army. The build quality of the housing is spectacular, the tube is crystal clear , and the packaging is top notch. I called Opticsplanet on a few occasions with questions and some concerns, and their customer service was outstanding and top notch as well. Thank you Opticsplanet for an exceptional product, and awesome customer service. The only issue I have now, is that fact that I want to purchase another one, which I plan on.

I chose OPMOD PVS-14 from the great variety of other manufactures cause my friend recommended. And he is the avid Texas hunter I can truly rely on. I haven’t hunted yet, I only tried it in my back yard on one of the starless night. The picture I got with my Gen 3 device was amazing. Besides, the price is better than any other competing brand I could find.
