DrM's Review of Armasight OPMOD Spark CORE Limited Edition Night Vision Monocular
The first unit was defective, but OP replaced it. The lens looked like it was installed improperly and the image was really blurry on the right half. Focusing the front and rear didn't seem to help.
The new one has an outstanding image for the money. Since this is a gen1, the light amplification isn't all that great, so you may have to use an external IR illuminator for distance work. The image is very high quality. There are very few image artifacts. There is, however, a minor problem on the replacement one. The front focus ring slips when you try to focus (the tan part). It also slides off when you try to remove the lens cap. Under the tan focus ring is a black focus ring with grooves like a camera. It looks like the glue on the tan focus ring cover on mine is stripped. Given the quality of the image, I will probably keep it and call Armasight for advice on how to fix it. Maybe they can send me a new part that will fix it.
So, the image quality is great. Hopefully, I just got unlucky on the quality issues. I would buy it again, but I suggest that you check it carefully.
