Hermannator's Review of Armasight OPMOD Spark CORE Limited Edition Night Vision Monocular
After 27 years of military service and use of every time of night vision device in the military inventory to include gogs on my helmet in a viper, I was very skeptical that any civilian Gen1 would satisfy my requirements. Spending $3-5K on NVG of any sort would not satisfy my wife's expectations for my spending on gear. It took me awhile to finally break down and buy an entry level Gen1+ unit and after months of reading reviews and considering the Pros and Cons at the price point I decided on the Armasight OPMOD Spark Core. I spent a few minutes with my 15 yo explaining Image intensification versus thermal imaging until his eyes glazed over because he just wanted to play with this really cool thing I bought. I was pleased with the image around our home and with IR spot light. The real test would be to throw one of my old tactical helmets on(Norotos mount, Rhino arm with a standard mil spec J arm) and allow him to walk around outside
