Was Honestly Expecting Less!
OK so, this is my 1st NVD. From what I read, 1st Gen devices are crappy, have fuzzy ness around edge of screen, loud noises and clicks come from them. So when I used this for the first time, I was Shocked! None of the above! This is probly as close to Gen 2 as it gets! The only con as I said is the couple of specs I can see on the screen. But, I only see the specs when using the IR. I definitely would recommend this for a first NVD! I love it and will never look back.
Pros: Rugged, Clear, Long Battery Life
Cons: Have about 4 or 5 Specs on Screen, which is norm for gen 1
Armasight Prime 5x Gen 1+
Was disappointed with this product. I have a Gen 3+ unit and there's no comparison. I know the price difference is huge but I was expecting a little more out of the unit. 40-50 yards is about all you can expect out of this unit. I guess you get what you pay for.

armasight prime 5x gen 1+ monocular
although this monocular works,the resolution leaves a little to be desired. I have decided to upgrade a bit and lower the magnification. It will still be a 1+ and hope to be much more satisfied this next time

Excellent Value
Clearly this unit is not going to function as a several thousand dollar upper generation night vision monocular; however,for the price it functioned above expectations. At 100 yards with the built in IR light images have clearly discernible detail. It is important to adjust the diopter correction to get optimum picture quality. Digital night vision will be the technology of the future. The only criticism is that the built in IR light could be stronger.

Cool Monocular!
I'm very satisfied with the work of Prime with 5x magnification and would recommend it! Before buying it I was not, actually, so sure that the device will be of good quality, as the price is not high, but I was wrong. Prime 5x provides good magnification in combination with decent resolution. Of course, the Gen1 cannot provide the perfectly clear image but with my device I can observe up to 100 meters that is great result! Built-in IR helps me to read the map in complete darkness so I'm glad I have Prime 5x!

Cheap, but well-made
The shipment of Prime 5x was very quick so I was looking forward to testing it and couldnt stand to watching at least something in the darkness. I went to my garden and tried to see the owl. The clearness in the starlight was very good and I saw its scary eyes. The next time I used it was during our family camping nearby the river bank so we went to watch the ducks and my son dropped and sopped it so I was afraid it wont work any more but the housing is really tough and firm so nothing changed and it still works! Armasight Prime 5x is perfect for our family camping and having fun thats why I would recommend it to everyone who likes to spend time with pleasure!
