armasight is great, i have some of their other products and i have yet to be disappointed. the image quality is super clear, and i was impressed by the spec sheet alone, however once i put it on i was even more impressed. very little artifacts, great clarity, and all the normal pvs-14 controls. when paired with a rayvn bridge and a good mount, it will not disappoint. i definitely recommend the white phosphor vs green, and ill be ordering another one to pair with this one shortly. although its more expensive than some other pvs-14s, its worth the cost
Pros:
- Lightweight
- bright
- Clear
- user friendly
- Company reputation

Quality product that is simple to use. I was concerned that there may be several artifacts in the FOV given that this device is Bravo rated. It is very difficult to find these minuscule spots even when looking in higher light. I can only find two and that was with a great effort of searching. I’m extremely pleased with this purchase.
Pros:
- Small device, light weight, sturdy, easy to use.
- lithium ion batteries used to power the device are inexpensive
Cons:
- Not cheap but worth every penny.
- You will also need to make an additional investment in a quality helmet and mounting brackets if you want to use hands free.

Although the price of this unit isn’t cheap, in terms of what you’re getting it’s a good value. Lower cost monoculars offer such poor resolution and clarity at any distance over 50 feet that they’re literally worthless. All branches of the military count on these PVS14 monoculars for combat and they are well tested and proven and this unit even comes with a skull crusher. My unit arrived quickly and has been without defect or problem.

I struggled with the type I wanted (monocular, single/double tube) and ended up with this. I like being able to have an eye free and when you’re looking through the lens it’s crisp. You will probably have to buy an adapter as the J-arm only fits the head mount that comes with it. If you’re mounting to a helmet you’ll have to buy that mount too. Otherwise, it’s good NV.

After a 2 month delay due to the first shipment being lost/stolen and a half dozen phone calls with marginal help the first few calls, I finally received the unit last night. The white is the way to go. Very clear, and with the built-in IR and/or the adjustable gain it makes the night dissappear wether viewing the landscape, the inside of the house, or the night sky really pop. Headgear/mount is marginal. Can adjust eye relief closer or farther off your face, but unable to swing it up out of the way, only rotatable off the eye. Carry bag is a nice touch. Uses a single AA battery. Need to find a picany rail mount for it now to use with my EXP3-0 holographic weapon sight to see how that all works out. So far I'm very pleased with the unit itself.
Pros:
- Ease of use
- Clarity & construction
Cons:
- Marginal head mount
- No mount for picany rail system

I already have a green phosphor PVS 14, and was wondering if the increased cost for the white phosphor was worth it. Answer: Absolutely YES!
My eyes really see a difference in definition and clarity with the white phosphor over the green, especially when I'm moving over heavily wooded terrain in the mountains. This makes avoiding obstacles, especially the close up terrorist tree branches and ankle crushing rocks, stand out. It also show IR sources and animals, better than my green phosphor, which is important for stock protection.
One on the best Armasight features, very low tech, but very well thought out, is the heavy cotton cord neck lanyard. A perfect solution for keeping the device anchored you your body, even when it get knocked off your mount. It also keeps the protective lens cover anchored to the device so you don't have to look for it in you pocket, where you are certain you put it. I have transferred this to my other PVS 14 as well.
Make sure you call the GREAT Optics Planet sales staff to discuss your purchase to get the best deal. They will also set you up with their product specialists to make sure you get the right mount for you needs.
Best Used for:
- Night surveillance
- night foot travel

I got mine today as it was a week late (DEMO). When I got it out of the box it looked as if it was used in combat not Demo use. Missing lens cap. I've not turned it on yet waiting till dark. Just an FYI this doesn't look like a demo it looks seriously used. Had I known it was going to be like this I'd have bought new. Wish they had a spot where you could ad photos.

Awesome resolution. Literally makes night into day. Lightweight and durable. Optic itself is superb. Head mount that comes with it is marginal. It will allow you to be hands free, but if you want the best get a helmet with Wilcox mount.

I'm an avid backpacker, hiker and camper. This was one of my best purchases. The staff at Optics Planet were very helpful with both product information and the purchase. Before you purchase online contact them. You won't regret it.
The PVS-14 Gen3 Alpha was delivered within three days of purchase even though the shipment was postponed one day to complete the Federal ITAR form. (Simply, who's going to use it, how will it be used and where will it be used).
I've already used it under multiple circumstances. On the trail with starlight and moonlight, a park with little ambient light and in a building with no ambient light. Under starlight and moonlight, you can see everything very clearly (under bushes, in trees, and in a variety of rough terrain). I used it in a park under cloudy night conditions with little ambient light. I couldn't see anything without the PVS-14 (except the faint outline of a couple of trees). Using the PVS-14 let me see everything pretty clearly, with a slight grainy picture due to the lack of light). I flipped on the IR and everything became crystal clear. I could easily recognize objects more than 100 meters from my observation position. In the building with no ambient light, I got a grainy, green, blank picture. When I flipped on the IR, I could see everything very clearly. I could easily walk around equipment and step over obstacles in complete darkness with no problem.
This purchase was everything that I had hoped it would be.
Pros:
- Very sharp and clear
- light weight
- Very well made
- Compact size (tactical)
