Used in fairly dark backyard and house at night. Any low light source gives plenty of Viewing without illuminator on. Could not see to walk in yard with no moon, but some ambient light from neighbor hood. Looks very clear through monocular. Illuminator makes it more like day (but still green tint). Great product for gen 1+. Good value. Works as described. Great shipping and transaction from OpticsPlanet.
Pros:
- My first night vision purchase

I'm impressed by this unit. The clarity is good, and it's easy to focus even with glasses. I've gone through a number of gen I units, and this is by far the best. I'll still upgrade when I can, but I don't feel like I've wasted any money. I do wish that they offered this in a dual unit, but I may still have gone with the mono anyway. The gen I dual units are a PITA to focus and adjust on the fly. I would have liked to compare this mono with a dual just to see if it can overcome the PITA factor.
The head gear is padded, and supports the weight of the unit so that you don't need to run out and purchase a helmet right away. The bracket that the mono fits into could stand to be a bit more secure. You will need to be sure to secure it to either your LBE or head gear before running through any exercise or hunting. It never came loose, but you can feel it move with any quick body movement.
The onboard IR is good, but you will need to upgrade or add to it if you need to see past 25 yards.
Pros:
- relatively light
- good clarity
- competitively priced
- padded head mount
- easily focused
Cons:
- The arm bracket feels a bit loose
- Needs a more powerful IR
Best Used for:
- hunting
- recreational liberty

Nicely packed and professional looking but NOT as advertised and shown in video IMHO. We expected much better. I could not find much difference in my normal night vision w/ the first switch optic w/o IR. With the second switch optic IR there was slight improvement but not what we were expecting. The clarity was not very good either. I asked for further input on how to improve the capability but no one responded so we are returning the product as of today 08/22 _ am

Best gen 1 monocle out there and the skull crusher is actually very comfortable... If you know the basic of how to use night-vision you will be pleasantly surprised. I have only used this out to 50 yards and it is great. much clearer than other gen1 i have used. About the same as gen2, but gen 3 the difference is very noticeable. The included illuminator is just OK. I found myself using a mounted IR light on my Tavor... I also use this with an IR laser and it serves its purpose well. i was ringing steel from 50 yards no problem with this and the laser in complete pitch black darkness... but doubtful I would have been able to see that far without the separate streamlight illuminator. For the price its a no brainier, spend an extra $50 on a good illuminantor.

If you want a quality NVG and are limited by your budget, this is perfect for you. It is not nearly as good as the mil spec gen 3. That is certainly expected, it is a fraction of the cost. I highly recommend!

Great product! Like all Armasight products it’s built like a brick $&*# house. Armasight devices are simple to use. They don’t have a lot of features like GPS, WIFY and such but I think that’s great because in the field ease of use and reliability is more important. This product like straight forward GEN1+ optic, very easy to use.

For the money, this sight performs very well. I don't have a lot of experience with Gen III night vision, but this sight performs very well for so far. The image in the lens seems very clear, and I was able to see approx. 200 feet with it, without the IR light turned on. With the IR light, you can see clearer, just not as far. I haven't tried longer range IR light yet. In total darkness, with IR, it's very easy to navigate and identify objects. Absolutely worth the money.

The G Core IIT NVG is affordable and fun. I compared it with another competitors NVG that I purchased last year and this one is clearly superior. Until I can get serious and ramp up to a flir or Gen 3 plus system, this one will get the job done. Reliability not test yet, but this is a pretty sharp system. Looking at helmet mounts next!
Pros:
- good price
- versatile optic mounting
- great clarity for this generation NVG

I placed my order for the Spark G IIT goggle. Within days the product was shipped. Upon receipt I studied the user manual until darkness fell. I feel it is very necessary to well acquaint myself self to this unit as I am a first timer in the night vision world. Fortunately this device has only 2 knobs to use for distance and definition. I am able to make out images up to approximately 100 yards but I am unable to distinguish any detail past 30 yards or so. I live in a very rural and isolated area in the State of Montana which has very little ambient light. There is more skyglow here than there was, say in the 1990's so that is a plus for night time viewing.
I am planning on ordering a long range illuminator for much needed distance that comes with the truly wide open spaces of North Central Montana. I use this for security reasons and in preparation for an unexpected crisis.
Cons:
- the included head mount is dependent flimsy velcro
