It will compete head-to-head with the finest 5" to 6" state-of-the-art refractors that cost $5000+ on the USA market. I paid $500 for a used OTA, and got a telescope worth several times that amount. Along with the OTA, I got a really great 10X finder scope. If you happen across one of these scopes, buy it on the spot if the price is anywhere within reason. These scopes are developing a real cult following among those who really know optics. I own 4 telescopes, including one of American manufacture and larger aperture, and this LOMO telescope is the last one I would ever part with.
