I got this for a build where I was wanting to match up the blacks. The ATC castle nut is very black, but was TOO shiny/glossy. So if you want a castle nut that is turely black AND shiny this would be for you.

worked great nice color match too

Needed to replace a cracked castle nut that was keyed wrong as well and could not be tightened with a standard castle nut wrench as you would use in these applications. The new one works perfect with my AR castle nut wrench, and it came in a nice FDE color.

Do not recommend

These are junk…loose fitting on my Brownells and BCM tubes. The staking notches are poor also. I bought two and threw the second one away. They are listed as Class 3B threads but I have BCM and SOLGW castle nuts which are also 3B and have much better engagement.

Not certain if the color is painted or anodized or something else but it's nice just the same.

Deliveries are long because a lot of items sold are not stocked, but I waited in order to finish my build.
