Most Helpful Negative Review Parallax issues
Seems I'm having the same issues others are.. Parallax adjustment won't go out past about 350yds. Got the scope back in Dec 2018. Noticed when I first took it to the range I had to dial out to about 125-133yds to get a clear sight picture at 100. Went to shoot a 600yd match today and couldn't get a clear enough image to even shoot turned all the way to infinity.. At 350 yards I could still pick off daises on the range though.. And dang, let me tell you it was a perfect day for a match.. No wind at all. Folks were laying down 20 round, 2" groups at 600 all morning long.. Just sen...

Good idea poorly executed

by Nick, Verified Owner from OK, United States Written on November 26, 2018
I have an Athlon Cronus which is fantastic and an Argos BTR 8-34 which is very good for the money but this 40x is really bad. I sent the 1st one to Athlon & they replaced it under warranty. This one is not clear & the side focus doesn't seem to work correctly. I don't recommend buying the 10-40 Argos BTR.
Pros:
  • Nice reticle
Cons:
  • side focus bad, poor glass quality
Would recommend: No

Fantastic scope for the money

Some of the more expensive scopes I own have slightly better glass. However I will happily make that trade to precisely place my shot on the same exact spot on paper every time. The scope to track well. We will see how well it holds up to recoil.

So far the Athlon 8x32x50 is held up well for the last 2 years. While I finally had toss my weaver classic extreme 4-16x50 after 4 years of fantastic service and abuse.

Over all very satisfied and will be ordering a second one if it holds up well.
Pros:
  • Great build quality
  • Positive click on turrents
  • Great magnification
  • Factory zero for 100 yards
Cons:
  • An included sunshade
  • No zero stops included
Best Used for:
  • benchrest
  • F-Class

Scope review

by Bob, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on August 14, 2018
Very happy with this optic overall. It is very clear and seems well made. OK maybe it is not a Nighforce but it is 3100 dollars cheaper.....I think I can adjust. Took it to the range the first time and I think for 399 dollars you just cant beat it. I also beleive it has a lifetime no questions asked warranty. Great scope for the money

Defective Scope or bad design.

by Nick, Verified Owner from OK, United States Written on July 24, 2018
Rating 2 right now based on Side focus set halfway between 25 & 50 yards to focus a target at 128 yards as measured by range finder. Called Argos Optics and they didn't seem much interested in resolving the issue. They said mount it and perform a tracking test to see if it was defective. I will revise this review after that test.
Pros:
  • power
Cons:
  • ranging marks off
Would recommend: No
