I’ve sent 3 of these back and their warranty is absolutely great ZERO COMPLAINTS on that. First was a dealer demo that was replaced almost immediately and second the parallax went out after 700ish rounds of .308 through a bolt gun. Next was on a 22lr trainer that the parallax went out after a couple months of very light use. I shoot a lot but I treat my gear very good. I own many other athlon items and this model is the only thing that’s ever let me down.

Love this scope. Athlon makes a great product. This is my third Argos BTR, it has a great reticle and the glass is clear, easy to see, very clean. Functions as it should. I've used this out to 1,000 yards and have no complaints. I will buy again when I need one.

This scope is great for my CZ 457 Varminet pro. The glass is ok for plinking and taking care of pests. I like having the zero stop. Very crisp adjustments on the turrits. I would recommend this for the price.

I wanted to like it but I just can’t. I was replacing a vortex diamond back 4-16 tactical because this one has a zero stop and more zoom. The glass on the athlon is not bad until you get up to about 18x where it sucks in my opinion and the eye box is too tight at high power so tight it’s hard to use. If you are just target shooting this scope is fine but if you plan on hunting I would not get this scope. I will either be buying a new scope or just putting my vortex back on.

This is a follow-up to a previous review. Yes, I was completely impressed with this optic out-of-the-box. But after some light usage on the long range, I started having trouble with the parallax knob. It developed a 'notch' in it where I would feel a 'click' and the parallax would 'jump' from in-focus to out-of-focus requiring follow-up adjustments. Sometimes the parallax would change after taking a shot or two so... I sent the optic in for warranty. They "fixed" it and I had it back in a few weeks. Unfortunately, the parallax adjustment was now completely broken. I could barely turn the knob and when it finally moved no adjustments were being made. They returned the warranty fix to me in worse condition than I sent out. Just emailed them again with the news and am waiting to see how they're going to handle it but at this point I am wishing I would've just went with the Swampfox Kentucky Long Range. The only reason I didn't is because it was on extended back-order but at this point, missing my long-range shooting all summer, I would've been better off waiting for the Swampfox.
The fact that a company would return a warranty "fix" back to me in worse condition than I sent it out does not fill me with any confidence at all!

During use of this scope when panning left or right the terrain on the side of the lenses is closer the the center of the viese. When panning this this will make you sea sick. Another issue is the eye box very small even on low power making is hard to get on target, i would not use it for hinting as you may miss your game before the eye is centered with scope. Sent it to Atholon for repair they said it was ok. TOOK IT OFF MY RIFLE AND PUT BACK ON THE VORTEC.

Awwwww-yeah! Wow, what a piece of glass. You could charge another $300-400 for this optic and it would still be a deal. It has nearly every single feature you'd expect to find on $1000 optics with decent enough glass. Are there better scopes out there. Of course but you're going to pay several hundred dollars more for it. But for this price you get:
- 6x24 power
- parallax adjustment
- tactile and audible adjustments
- pull-cap/locking turrets
- turret return-to-zero
- First Focal Plane
- diopter adjustment
- illuminated, etched reticle
- lens caps
- shock, fog and waterproof
- fully coated lenses
Unbelievable! I'm sure there's more but I only found one other optic that comes close to this combination of features and price: The Swampfox Kentucky Long 4x24. Couldn't decide so I got both. That's the beauty of it. I get 2 top-tier, long-range optics for the price one of your "high-end" brands.
Pros:
- durable
- low price
- Quality build
- full featured
- warranty coverage
Best Used for:
- hunting
- mid to long range
- competion shooting
- precision shooting

In late July 2021, I went hunting for deer in Hawaii on Molokai. The guides took a hunting buddy and me to a blind. About 8 deer walked out from behind a tree at 266 yards. I’m older now (73), and need more magnification, so I raised the power to 12. I tracked my deer. The guide stopped the deer by whistling. I squeezed off a round with my .300 Win mag.
The picture was bright and the glass was clear. I could see everything. The shot was perfect; just behind the left shoulder. That was the longest shot I have made to date. The Athlon Argos ll 6-24 x 50 MOA worked flawlessly! I love this scope!! It is the best value I have ever gotten from any product I have ever bought. I must thank one of my hunting buddies for recommending the scope. What a great scope for the price!

Mounted on a Savage 110 Tactical in .308 with Vortex Pro Series Rings.
This scope had all the features I wanted, but I didn't want to spend $1200 +++. At the cost of some optic quality at high magnification, you can get a well featured, useful optic with FFP, parallax adjustment, illuminated reticle, and zero stop turrets.
I diligently leveled the rifle/mounts and then the scope with a flashlight through the ocular lens shining onto a plumb line on a far away wall. My first shots at 100 yards were only a few inches from the crosshairs. Shot at longer ranges with adjustments and was very happy with results.
Complaints are the optical quality at high magnification which I expect for this price. Turrets do not lock. If you bump and rub them them properly against something they will turn. Another feature I wish I had was a motion sense on/off for the illumination. A feature that's great for saving battery life when you forget to turn illumination off which everyone will do.
I'm a value shopper. I want all the positive features for the best price. This scope does very well. It's very very capable and useful for the price.
Pros:
- Price
- features
- illumination
- FFP
- Parallax adjustable
- Utilitarian
Cons:
- optic quality at high magnification
- zero stops are plastic
- Turrets not locked
Best Used for:
- budget minded marksmen
- features for the best price
