Most Helpful Positive Review Athlon Argos BTR Scopes
This is my 2nd Athlon scope because I was impressed with the 1st. For the price point you just can't beat it. The glass is extremely clear and clean, the tree retical makes ranging a breeze. Turrets are solid and very audible. When I did the box test tracking it was almost perfect. Compared to my Ra...

Most Helpful Negative Review Feature full, but falls flat on basic function
This scope seemingly cannot be beat. FFP, zero stops, parallax, MRAD, Christmas tree illuminated reticle out of a 50mm lens all for 400 dollars. Glass is acceptable, turrets click positively, eye relief is manageable, illumination functions well and the overall fit and finish of the scope is great. ...

Solid Scope for the money!

by Phil, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on May 10, 2025
If you're on a budget but need all the rich features of the expensive competitors, you wont be disappointed with this. I run this on a AR-10 platform chambered in 6.5cm and holds zero well, turrets are robust, tracks accurately, glass is pretty good, and the illuminated reticle is awesome! 6x24, FFP, Illumination... Hard to beat

Great scope

by Plinked, from NC, United States Written on March 16, 2023
This is a very clear very well made scope , it is a touch heavy. Well that being said it has great adjustments and great field of view for the massive power it has! The scope caps are a nice bonus but the eye lens on broke on my second hunt it was cold , it could have been on me being clumsy.
Pros:
  • Very well made and accurate
Cons:
  • Heaver duplex for deer hunting
Best Used for:
  • Shoot in all conditions

great scope for a great price.

by RodderXP, Verified Owner from AL, United States Written on September 19, 2021
Owned it for about six months now and its been great. Its never lost zero and tracks well. Clear glass for the price category very sharp easy to see color and details on target. The reticle is clear and easy to learn. I have shot it consistently out to 800 yards on a ruger American 308 and thats also shooting 7.62 Nato. Only gripe I have is that it seems to scratch easily so after the first few scratches i have found myself babying it and the included lens caps tends to stick a bit. Other than that she hits high above her price class. Im not a competition long range shooter. I'am just now getting to like and understand distance shooting and how to read the reticle to judge and calculate distance. For a beginner or casual season hunter its a lot more than you need but youll be glad you have it as you progress.

Better than I expected for the money

by Joe blow, from KY, United States Written on June 23, 2021
I put this scope on a T/C Compass II chambered in .300 Win Mag. I had concerns about it standing up to the recoil, but 160 rounds in and it seems to be doing just fine. The only problem I have had is that when I fired my first round after mounting this scope the flip up lens cover hit the bill of my hat and broke. I contacted Athlon customer service via the link on their website to ask where to buy another one. Daniel T. emailed me the very next morning (it was the middle of the night when I sent my message) and informed me that he would send me a new one if I would sent him my mailing address. Top marks for customer service in my book. As for the scope the turrets click crisply and the intervals seem to be correct and repeating. The glass isn't quite as bright as a Vortex, but it is clear and bright enough to see a 10"×12" plate painted green on a grassy hill from 350 yards on a partly cloudy afternoon. In my opinion this scope is best in class for the $400 price range.
Pros:
  • Feature rich, decent quality
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Seeing, ranging, and shooting.

Athlon Argos BTR Gen II

by Riley, from IA, United States Written on February 20, 2021
This scope delivers fantastic performance for the price. Very comparable in performance to others that cost 500 or more. Only downside is that it is fairly heavy, not something I’d recommend for a hunting rifle, but perfect for varmint and range practice out to 600 yards or so.
Pros:
  • Very high quality for the price
Cons:
  • Heavy
Best Used for:
  • Target shooting

Best for money

by SMS, from LA, United States Written on August 16, 2020
Excellent $400.00 scope. rugged, holds zero well, clear, worth the price, likely buying another one because I doubt they stay this cheap when more people see them. I was having a hard time seeing 100 yrd .22 impacts. This changed that. Dial it up to 22X and its perfect. First focal gets a bit large when your at max power but dial it back to get lines thinner. This is just the ticket if you dont want to spend more on a scope than the rifle. They must have changed something as the turrets have a nice feel. solid tactile feel but no audible click( I prefer this). Is a 5K schmidt or 3k nightforce better? Not when I can keep $4500-2600 bucks. Is the clarity great at 500yrds? not enough to see a dime, but no problem with a 4" target. This is a affordable scope you can hunt or target shoot with well.
Pros:
  • Worth the money
  • Rugged & reliable
Cons:
  • Not super clear at 24X, little haze but 22 is fine
Best Used for:
  • Target & Hunting

ffp air rifle scope

by Djd, from IN, United States Written on August 2, 2020
I have broken 2 scopes that were raised for air rifles in 50 to 60 shots. This scope is holding up to the gun so far . I have put about 100 rounds down range with no problems. And with the life time warranty it should be the last one I get for this gun . Scope is clear and very accurate.
