WeeHooker's Review of Athlon Optics Argos BTR Gen II 8-34X56mm APLR2 Rifle Scope
I actually have two of these particular scopes and a couple each of the rest of the Argos line and can say that they have all been as reliable as a hammer. The Argos line delivers decent glass, etched First Focal Plane reticle, good crisp turrets, zero stop, wide magnification range, side focus, 56mm objective and an illuminated recital and VG fit and finish...... I find this particular 8-34 model useful for shooting my ( rimfire) rifles off the bench at small to medium targets out to the 250 yds I shoot. The extra magnification is really nice for 100 yd "egg" shooting in particular. That said, the image will start to dim up after 30X or so so I rarely take it past that.
If I have ANY gripes with this scope it's that the FFP recital can get a bit "fat" at 30X or so.It's Ok for lollypop and egg shooting at 50-100 yds but the 10-40x56 model with it's second focal plane reticle is a better choice if your trying to shoot 1/4" bullseyes on paper
