This is a great scope in all aspects with one exception, the brighter you turn the reticle the red color seems to create splatter and on high is almost impossible to tell what your hash marks are. 3 is about as high as you can go before the splatter starts. Most Helpful Negative Review Opened box came to me!

The box came opened, and damaged. The battery was missing, and the zero stop had already been applied. The glass quality is not what I was hoping for, possibly a more expensive Athlon scope would have better glass or clarity, having difficulty focusing on 500 yard and above, doesn’t compare with vortex viper or razor.

Love the scope. Perfect for my 10/22! Really like the reticle, and the glass is nice and clear. Tracks well also.Would definitely recommend.

NRL22 PRS Rimfire Scope

I replaced an Athlon HERAS SPR 4-20×50 AAGR2 SFP MIL with this scope on my NRL22 and PRS Rimfire rifle. My primary reason to get this scope was to be able to dial out to 400 yards (19+MIL). The HELOS has 32MIL of elevation adjustment. The HERAS only has 21MIL of total elevation. I mounted the HELOS on a 40 MOA rail and now have 24MIL of available elevation. More than enough to get out to 400 yards. Another advantage, is that the HELOS is a First Focal Plane scope. It is nice to be able to do range estimation at all magnification levels. And finally, it has an illuminated reticle which I have used in a few low light situations and a parallax adjustment down to 10 yards for short range shooting applications

This is an excellent scope at this price point. The HELOS BTR GEN 2 4-20 x 50 rifle scope falls right in the "sweet spot" for most shooting applications and calibers.

Great Scope

This is my 4th Athlon scope. This one is for my Benelli Lupo Walnut 308. I have this same scope on my AM10, and the wife's Ruger American Gen 2. I have the other Athlon on my Henry X Model 360 Buckhammer. I have more expensive scopes, but Athlon makes great optics with various options that I love. Athlon does this at a a great price point.

excellent glass - comes with sun shade

I returned the Argos for this model and for the $200 price difference, you get so much more! This scope has excellent clarity and the difference in eye relief is substantial. One thing that was unexpected, I ordered a sun shade for this model on the same order, only to find out it comes with one! So in order to not have to pay $8 I returned it for in store credit. Not a big deal or anything to do with the actual scope.

Overall very happy with the scope. Has a ton of elevation adjustment as well. Athlon says 18 in/lb to secure the scope. We will see if that holds up to 300 PRC recoil.

Better than you think

The scope surprisingly to me, is excellent for the price. Technology has caught up in the way that you don't have to spend a thousand dollars to get a good scope anymore. Eye box is a little tight at 20x, but for less than a thousand dollars, it's a wonderful optic. The turret's are excellent, and the reticle is too. Buy one, you won't regret it.
