Incredible value. Best in class glass.
I have long considered the Sightron S-Tac 4-20x50 to be the best value optic at under $500. I have several of them for a reason. This scope beats it in every category besides weight (this is a couple ounces heavier), and elevation adjustment range (Heras has 70 MOA, Sightron has 80). The glass is way ahead of any of my sub-$500 optics. Super bright and crisp images. Controls are super smooth, reticle is effective and uncomplicated but good for ranging and holding over. I prefer a floating dot and moa-based subtensions like this and the STac offer. The turrets can be reset to zero with ...

Athlon Heras
I wanted a very small dot, and this one is great. The glass is crystal clear. The return to zero stop is a big help when our matches shoot from 33 yards, 50 yards, and 100 yards.
Pros:
- Small dot
Cons:
- expencive
Best Used for:
- Competition shoot

Athlon heras 4-20x50
Great value for a sub $400 scope. Clear glass (mild CA at max power) excellent reticle similar to NF NX8, well marked/decent clicks on tactile turrets, 70moa elevation even on 1” tube, includes flip caps, sunshade and extended zoom ring throw lever.
Best Used for:
- Target and hunting
- target or hunting
- LR targets or hunting

Athlon Heras
Great scope for the price. I own 3 of these and for the price I don’t think you can get much better

Solid Rifle Scope
So far so good. Built like a rock. This scope has very clear glass and a great reticle. The turret clicks are well defined. On the base of both turrets are up/down or left/right arrows. You can move your eye up from the scope a little and verify your turning the turret the correct direction. So far there's nothing not to like.

Hits above its price point
I did a bunch of research before buying this because I was looking for a 30mm tube scope. But all the reviews were so positive I decided to give a shot.
How does Athlon make a 1” tube look bigger than a 30mm? I have a PA SLX 4-16 that looks like viewing through a straw compared to the Heras. I absolutely love this scope! Seriously considering another one because it’s so good.

Excellent product.
I now have purchased three of these scopes. I tested this scope next to a couple of the Vortex scope products, the Burris Signature HD and Burris Veracity PH scopes. I also owned the Leopold VX3 and VX5. I have to say that I have been impressed by the quality of this product! The glass is remarkably clear even during dawn and dusk operations. The tracking is right on target and the eye relief is excellent. The zoom is super smooth and the turrets are an easy-to-use feature that you would expect on a higher-end product. If you have been holding off because you think this product is "cheap" I can assure you that this scope will become a new go-to budget option. In my opinion, I will no longer buy $1500 glass when this product is as good as if not in many cases better. My only con...they do not offer illuminated reticles in the Heres model yet. I hope this will be coming soon! All I can say is..buy this scope from Optic Planets today and see for yourself!
Pros:
- GREAT PRICE
- Excellent glass and clarity
- smooth turrets
Cons:
- Illumiation is lacking
Best Used for:
- Hunting and long range shooting

Good scope for the money.
Good scope for the money. I was able to stretch out a "budget" AR 6.5CM build to 1200yds using this scope. Running an 18" bbl I ran out of elevation adjustments at 1100yds, but was able to use the reticle to hold over and hit at 1200 (a 20 MOA base will solve this problem) My only complaint is that the zero stop isn't great. Glass is clear and turrets are repeatable. It did come with the wrong size throw lever and when I contacted Athlon they admitted they had an "issue at the factory" and to call back in a month or so and they would send me the correct one.
Overall, thumbs up for the price point.
