pretty good, could get a little better with a new part from ATN
I bought the ABL1500 for my X-sight II HD, so this review centers on it use with it.
I received the ABL1500 right before the end of the year. At first, I thought there was a problem, but after talking to ATN it turned out to just be bad instructions. There were several errors in the first version...

ATN 1500 ABL Trial
1) Optics planet people are GREAT.
2) Customer support at ATN is at best BAD. Called 5 times on this product 4 of the 5 times I went through a 15 minute call count down and when it was my turn the automated system informed that I was being placed in a mail box. ( ATN never returned my calls )

Great Addition
Great addition to my X-Sight 4K Pro. Easy to install and easy to pair. Seems to be very accurate. I like that you can zero the ABL like you zero a scope. I haven’t shot yet using the ballistics calculator so I can’t comment on its accuracy. But the reticle does move to a new poi. The numbers in the scopes screen that show hold over/under coincide with my notes. Very hall with the purchase.
Pros:
- Easy to install and set up.
Cons:
- The set screw that locks it in place when mounting behind the bell end coukd be a little bigger and or longer. With the supplied set screw the unit tries to slip when the gun is in the hard case.
Best Used for:
- hunting, target shooting.

Not compatible with newer scopes
There's no reason they couldn't add this as an option in the firmware for the x-sight 5, but no it's not going to be supported. They'll stick with the 1000 meter integrated rangefinder and shaft you on options that used to exist. Disappointed that they won't just let their own stuff work in its own environment.

Scope mounted rangefinder
The reason I rated this product at a 2 star is because it uses CR2 3V batteries. They are very expensive and rechargeable ones are not readily available. Each battery only lasts a maximum of 10 hours (likely because a laser is constantly on). This is a very poor design by the manufacturers. However the rangefinder does work reasonably well and wasn’t too difficult to install and use. Hopefully soon there is a better version that comes out that fixes the significant battery problem.
Pros:
- Works as advertised
Cons:
- weight
- batteries
Best Used for:
- Thermal hunting

Nice for the money
Amazing thing. I have used this device for nearly 1 year with my X-Sight 4K scope. It was very simple to mount it. The connection was on the 2nd try. You need only one simple touch of a button and you will automatically adjust your point of impact for the distance to your target with this ABL. The data is super accurate. I'm very glad with this purchase!

Handy for PCP guns
Cuts a lot of time and the chance of error for long range pellet drop. Unit did stop working and after contacting ATN, they are having me RMA it back to them for a replacement. Without it you need to range with a hand held unit and then manually input the results.

nice paring wirh their scope
Ok here’s a great idea which for some reason they totally failed on the documentation. It’s somewhat difficult to mount when you choose the second option. It scuffs the front focus ring as you pull it over. Also the set screw leaves a mark in the scope body and then stripped out. Then the paring process is completely different than what’s in the owner’s manual had to watch a YouTube video to get it setup. Hopefully the functionality will outweigh the issues.

Best thing out there
This is the best thing that I added to my scope. Makes ranging so much easier. Such a time saver rather than knowing the height of you target. Had a couple issues in the beginning but Ross at ATN helped me out.

ATN LASER BALLISTIC
I was told that I needed this piece and how accurate it was. I am so glad that I have invested the money into this piece. I'm also glad with the help of Faris Oran that my rifle is complete now and I couldnt do it without his help and guidance. (15)

Very good at first glance
Have just received mine and tested it in the range mounted on the X-Sight in day mode. The box contains everything needed to install it and the process itself is described in a short how-to video available at ATN website, no need to read the manual. It took me about half an hour to set everything up from unboxing to the first shot. I like that it has a ridge that doesn't let it slide back and forth - my biggest worry was if a scope-mounted rangefinder could be recoil resistant. And I like that the distance is on the display, the scope and the rangefinder work as one unit. Can't wait to test it in the field...

not like other lrfs
It has no lens and no control buttons and when it's not attached to the scope most friends ask what it is. It is recoil resistant, no need to rezero between shooting session. And it has several adapters for various lenses (i'm using xsight 4k now but if i ever afford a thermal scope it's a strong argument for choosing atn again).
Pros:
- Clear
- solid made
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Ranging
