Most Helpful Positive Review ATN DNVM-6 Digital Night Vision Monocular, 6x DGMNNVM6C
Was disappointed such an item does not come with a lens cap. Just doesn't make sense. Even a camera with such a high quality lens comes with a lens cap. Pros: Good quality, low price, great detail while using at night. Cons: Does not come with a lens cap.
Most Helpful Negative Review Not that great
Bought this monocular so we would have another set of "eyes" along with my night vision scope for hog and predator control for the price you probably couldn't expect much more, but the lack of range and the eye fatigue when using this monocular means I probably will only use this to see what is root...

Very disappointed

by Michael, from WA, United States Written on November 28, 2016
Don't waste your time with this product, it wasn't even worth the time that it took me to fill out this review. The only thing you can see in the dark or light so they are lit up.the darkness looks dark and so does everything else. Save a little more money and buy a armasight or anything else lol. OpticsPlanet is fantastic though we love these guys. Mike

Disappointed

by DJ, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on November 27, 2016
The unit felt cheap to me when I first took it out of the box. There was also an uneven gap where the front lens unit connects to the frame. The real bummer was the image in the view finder. The view finder itself is so tiny that it becomes tedious to look through for any amount of time. The price was good but the extremely small viewing area was frustrating and taxing on the eye.
Pros:
  • Price
Cons:
  • view finder area tiny

Bad optic picture

by DanB, from NJ, United States Written on November 21, 2016
Right out of the box and into use. The optic picture has blurry smudge internally on lenses which cannot be removed on the bottom right of the screen. Not a good piece of equipment, would not recommend.

Expecting too much, or receiving too little?

by DJ, from WI, United States Written on September 15, 2016
I received my scope and ran out to get batteries for. The first time I tried to use it, I couldn't focus at all. Several other attempts were a little better, but this doesn't begin to be as good as the Gen 1 starlight scope I used in Viet Nam. It is extremely hard to focus at all. When I do get some focus, it's hard to change field of view without having to struggle to get back in focus.
I do think part of the problem is that this is a 6x scope, and has to narrow a field of view for in town use. However, it is much less useful than I expected.

Good 1st Gen Night Vision

by night owl, from CA, United States Written on July 17, 2016
I found this to be a good entry level night vision monocular, and it worked perfectly when properly adjusted. Understand that 1st Generation NV has limited capabilities compared to later generations, but this is also reflected by the price difference. The 6X intensification provided great detail, but at the cost of a narrower field of view.
Pros:
  • Easy adjustments
  • affordable price
Cons:
  • Narrow field of view

ATN DNVM-6

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on May 4, 2013
I recently purchased this product to spot the armadillos tearing up my lawn at night. It works really well. With no natural light (stars and moon) you will definitely need to use your IFR. At the edge of my property is a wood line. I couldnt see anything within the wood line. I could see about 50 yards crystal clear. I couldnt make out the face of a person, but most definitely I could see that it was a human. The only negative thing that I have to say about this DNVM is that it should have come with a lanyard and lens cap. I recommend this product
Pros: excellent IFR, crystal clear black and white imaging.
Cons: It doesn't come with a lens cap nor lanyard

Great product if it worked longer then a few days

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on February 9, 2013
It worked for 2 days and then couldn't see anything out of it at a distance. I sent it back to exchange for a new one. After 2 weeks of waiting to hear back I called the return department couldn't find anything wrong with it. I was told that it was either a refund or I could upgrade to a better one. MORE MONEY is what they want
Cons: return department is difficult to deal with
